Email Marketing: The Best Way To Build Relationships That Earn You Money

emailmarketing2How many days a week do you go without checking your email? Probably not many! Email is a great way to communicate with friends and family, but it is also a great way to keep in touch with your favorite blogs, websites and businesses.

New information, products and promotions can easily be sent directly to your email, and chances are that many emails you receive take you back to the sender’s blog, website or business. Looking at it from this point of view can help you to see why email marketing is so essential to you and your business.

In short, email marketing can help you stay in touch with people who visit your blog or website and can give you a platform to recommend products and services to them that will earn you money.

Some businesses, like established stores, can use email marketing only to promote sales and specials in their store. This type of email marketing does not require a ‘personal feel’ because most people have only signed up to get deals when they arise.

Websites and blogs like yours and mine, however, do not just promote products, but rather provide valuable information as well as promote products. This kind of email marketing requires a more intimate touch in order to keep subscribers happy with your emails.

Email Marketing Tips To Keep Subscribers Happy

Don’t harass your list, but be sure that you send out frequent messages. If you want to stay fresh in your subscriber’s minds, then you will need to send a lot of relevant and useful emails.

They signed up to your list for reason. They wanted to keep up-to-date with your blog or business, and they wanted to receive interesting and useful information. They did not sign-up to be marketed to constantly and they did not sign-up to receive an email only once a month.

It is important to remember that even though the money is in the list, it is really in the relationship you have with the people in your list. Just because you have 1 million people on your list doesn’t mean that you will make a lot of money when you recommend a product, especially if that list of people doesn’t trust you.

However, if you have 1 million people on your list who trust you and your opinions, then you’ll be more likely to make a very good amount of money when you send out an email that promotes either one of your products or an affiliate product.

It is best to shift your mindset from ‘the list’ and view the people on your list as people with needs, desires and wants. When you realize that these people want good information and value then you will be able to give them what they want.

What should you write about in the majority of your emails? First, you can keep your subscribers up-to-date with your blog. Discussing new posts or new comments that were recently posted to your blog can keep your subscribers interacting with your blog on a regular basis.

That is important to the success of your blog and to the relationship with your with your list. The more they interact with you and your blog the more they will trust you.

You should also give your subscribers inside information that they can’t get from your blog. Otherwise, what’s the point of subscribing to your list? If they only want to keep up with your blog then they could simply follow your RSS feed, but they are looking to receive extra valuable information and quality freebies by being a member of your email list.

(In fact, this is how you should entice people to be a part of your list… let them know that subscribers are treated to all kinds of information and special offers not available on your blog.)

Lastly, do not send irrelevant content no matter how tempting it may seem. People signed up for your list because they expected content around a certain topic. Keep your emails relevant to your niche to help keep engagement with your emails and blog high.

Email Marketing Tips for Success

Utilize social media inside of your email. Readers may not be inclined to go out of their way to talk about your newest post or piece of information. However, if you utilize social media buttons inside of your email, then you give readers a quick way to share your content.

In addition, you should have ‘follow me’ buttons so that readers can also follow you on your social media accounts. That way, they will never miss a post or recommendation from you!

Optimize your emails for people using mobile devices. This is not something that you should think about doing; this is something that you SHOULD BE DOING! If your email does not show up well on a person’s phone, for example, then they will be less likely to read it.

In fact, over 60% of Americans have said that they will immediately close an email that is not optimized for their phone. Therefore, if you have a list of 1000 people, and you are not optimized for mobile, then 600 of your subscribers may not be reading your emails. That is a lot of people to miss out on!

Don’t forget that any content you point your readers to from your email should be optimized for mobile devices as well. Your goal should be to keep your subscribers engaged as long as possible.

Lastly, always test your email before you send it. If it is not attractive to you, then chances are that it will not be attractive to your readers either. If you are going to take the time to create an email, then make sure it is going out the way you want it to look.

Include the most relevant information at the top of your email just as you would on your website, because readers will quickly skim the top to see if it is interesting to them or not. In addition, make your email easy to read and to navigate.

In conclusion, email marketing is essential to any blog, website, or business. In order to receive the biggest benefits possible, ensure that you are pleasing your readers with both content and design. This will help your readers engage with you more and create a long-lasting relationship full of trust. And a trusting relationship with your readers is the reason you will make money from your list.

  2. Kevin, email marketing was one of my biggest challenges not to long ago! I didn’t really understand it but I knew it was a great way for me to follow up with my subscribers!

I really didn’t have any idea what to say to them because I was so used to using auto responder messages for the affiliate product I was promoting.

I did some research as well as joined other marketers list just to see & read their personal emails. I realized that email marketing isn’t hard at all, just as you mentioned you can write out educational emails that will educate your subscribers & give them what they are looking for.

This is the true process called “Attraction Marketing”, awesome post definitely shared & bookmarked!
